Call and Consequence

Privacy

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. Three companies handle data when you use it, and this page says what each one gets.

Call and Consequence is responsible for the data described here. Write to info@callandconsequence.com about anything on this page. Last updated 2 November 2026.

When you visit

Cloudflare serves every page. Like any web host, it receives your IP address, your browser's name and version, and the address of the page you asked for. It uses them to deliver the page and to block attacks, and keeps them for as long as Cloudflare's privacy policy says. This site's configuration switches on no logging of its own. The owner can see Cloudflare's dashboards: mostly traffic totals, plus the IP addresses of requests Cloudflare blocks.

The legal basis is legitimate interests: a website can't be delivered without this.

The film player

When a film is public on YouTube, its page here loads YouTube's player from youtube-nocookie.com. It loads with the page, before you press play, so Google can show the film in search results.

In our test on 1 November 2026, in one signed-out Chrome browser, the player set no cookies. A signed-in or different browser may behave differently. It did write data to your browser's storage as soon as the page loaded, and your browser contacted Google's servers, which then received your IP address, your browser details and which film you opened. Google decides what it does with that data under Google's privacy policy.

If you'd rather not load it, block youtube-nocookie.com in your browser; the transcript and sources still work without it. Pages without a public video load nothing from YouTube.

The legal basis is legitimate interests: showing the film next to its sources is what the site is for.

When you email

Email to info@ goes to a Microsoft 365 mailbox, which scans it for spam. The channel owner reads it to reply, check a correction or follow up a source, and deletes it after 12 months. Sending email is your choice. Nothing on this site requires it.

The legal basis is legitimate interests: answering the people who write in.

Where it goes

Cloudflare, Microsoft and Google are US companies, so this data can be handled outside the UK. Each one names the legal safeguard it uses for UK data in its own policy: Cloudflare, Microsoft, Google. Write to info@callandconsequence.com for a copy of the details. We don't sell this data, share it with advertisers or use it for automated decisions about you.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to limit how it is used or to object to its use, and to receive a copy. Write to info@callandconsequence.com. For the data Google and Cloudflare hold, ask them directly too.

If you are unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
